Posted on January 29th, 2010 at 4:14 pmWe purchased 2 of the 10 foot mats for the basement so we wouldn’t wear out the carpet doing our morning exercise routine. When the product arrived and we took it out of the box it had a strong chemical smell. We laid the mats out in the basement and the smell was unbearable the next morning, giving us both headaches. We placed the mats in a spare bedroom with all of the windows open for 4 weeks, and the smell was still too strong. We laid out the mats outside in the sun for another two weeks. The smell is slowly fading, but at this point the mats are rolled up in the garage and we’re not sure if we’ll ever be able to use them indoors.
We’d recommend this mat for outdoor or garage use only.

Posted on January 29th, 2010 at 6:56 pmWe needed a “soft,” rubber(ized) floor covering for a store room where we keep framed art among many other things. This product was exactly what we needed. I had found it on the company’s website but would have had to special order a length and pay shipping – it would have been much more expensive than buying the pre-cut lengths. The pieces we purchased were the exact size we needed, but minor trimming was quick and easy. There is a slight “out-gassing” or rubber smell but leaving the store room door open a couple days vented that smell and it is now gone.
This product was delivered quickly and packaged so it would not be damaged.
Years ago I needed a similar product for a mat for the back of our Honda Pilot (2003) – one that would cover the entire back of the vehicle with all seats down so we could haul wet skis, etc. The company who finally supplied it could only do so with two pieces – not optimal. I will probably order another piece of this mat (it is the same as we have in our Pilot – or close) so I can have a one piece waterproof mat in the back of our vehicle.
